Welcome to Tracker-SidekickHq.com
Hello & Welcome to Tracker-SidekickHq.com.
This site is dedicated to those fun machines that started out with the well known Suzuki Samurai (and even before that with the LJ & SJ lines) and evolved into a patch-work of different versions and brands including those familiar to the North American markets, the Suzuki Sidekick and the multi-badged Tracker.
The number of different names these cars have had is bewildering. For example, in the US, the Sidekick was also sold as the Geo Tracker and later, the Chevrolet Tracker. In Canada, it’s even worse with the cars having been marketed as the GMC Tracker, Chevrolet Tracker, Asuna Sunrunner and finally, the Pontiac Sunrunner.
Over the years, the Tracker/Sidekick has been extremely popular with the off-road crowd because of its low cost, reliability and easy modding. It has also built a large following among those people who prefer to remain on highways and roads rather that slogging through water and mud, or crawling over rocks with modified suspensions, oversized tires and surrounded by extra strength roll bars.
The purpose of this site is to provide a venue where Tracker/Sidekick enthusiasts – no matter what the name of their particular version of the car, or whether they off-road or not, can show off their gems and exchange tips and tricks or sources of this or that custom or related equipment.
This site is still in the process of being set up, so be sure to check back often. We’re in the process of developing a member contributed photo gallery where those of you that wish to can upload pictures and also post a blurb about of your “pride and joy”
Hope you enjoy and, if you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know.
Make it a great day!
